What happened

In June 2020, after George Floyd’s murder, Uber said it would give $1 million to criminal-justice groups including the Center for Policing Equity and the Equal Justice Initiative. It also said it would highlight Black-owned restaurants and drop delivery fees for them for the rest of 2020. A year later CNBC reported Uber’s figure of 3.5 million zero-fee trips.
