On March 10, 2021, Goldman Sachs launched One Million Black Women: $10 billion in direct investment capital and $100 million in philanthropic capital over 10 years, with a goal of reaching at least one million Black women by 2030. The $10 billion is commercial capital the bank said it would invest, not a $10 billion donation.
On April 3, 2023, Goldman said it had deployed more than $2.1 billion in investment capital and over $23 million in philanthropy, expecting impact for more than 215,000 Black women. That is the firm’s progress report.
