What happened
The EEOC charged that Dillard's failed to promote African American employees into supervisor and manager roles because of race. In October 2020 a federal judge entered a consent decree: $900,000 in back pay and compensatory damages, written nationwide promotion policies, posted vacancies, training, an EEOC-facing complaint line, and HBCU recruiting for the Little Rock buyer program.
